Light Rail Products was started as a result of a gap in the field
of garden railway manufacturing. LRP is producing high quality,
detailed and well thought out kits which can be assembled with
only basic modeling skills. All of these kits are G-scale
versions of products that were used on a wide variety of
interurbans and streetcars (also known as Trolleys or the
newest translation—Light Rail Vehicles). These parts and
kits can easily be used to dress up Hartland, LGB or Bachmann
cars. Plus, Northeast Narrow Gauge also produces a small
variety of kits.
Our first wooden car kit will be a
Steeple Cab Locomotive. A sample of this still exists in the
Seashore Trolley Museum in Kennebunkport, Maine. We have taken
a few small liberties with it, and will be offering it as a
“generic” steeple cab. This kit will be fairly easy
to assemble using basic hand tools. It’s still on the
drawing board, so look for it in the near future.
If you have any requests or as we find
common threads, we will work towards producing new items.
