LRP #005
Trolley Hook
Brass Casting: A simple two-legged trolley hook. Many cities
used different types of trolley hooks and perhaps had these
fabricated in their shops. When mounting these onto the roof,
it was a customary practice to off set these slightly (if the
company had double-ended cars) so when they were in the barn,
and the poles were down, they would not touch one another. Also
when being towed (using LRP #002--St. Louis Coupler), on sharp
curves, if the poles happen to be down were the coupling is
made, the poles could touch on sharp curves. Off setting your
poles will reduce these incidents!!
